SDHS Class of 1968 50th Class Reunion was a great success!

Dear Classmates,

The SDHS Class of 1968 Reunion Committee would like to thank all of our classmates who were able to attend our 50th class reunion and making it such a memorable time spent together. The committee worked for many months preparing for this magnificent occasion and it would not be possible without all of you.

As our reunion weekend came to a close, we realized just how much we will miss all those planning meetings and the time we spent together.  As always, the most difficult part is keeping in touch with classmates and finding those we seemed to have lost touch with over the years. Please help us for future reunions by sending a note to one of us on the committee or sign up with the SDHS Alumni Office. Their website is: http://sdafoundation.com/alumni.

Many thanks to Carolyn Roy Cope for hosting all of our meetings and to all of our committee members who helped to make our reunion such a great event. They are Carolyn Roy Cope, Kathy Hayashi Furgerson, Louise Brass Abbott, Dan Dalager, Doug Long, Libby OConnell Dreazy, Susie Cook Faulkner, Dell Shitara, and Jan Nasif Thompson.

Here are some of the highlights of the weekend:  The Friday night gathering was held at the home of Dan and Shirley Dalager with 77 people attending. We had a great evening of visiting and reminiscing and eating and drinking. It was a wonderful relaxing evening spent with good old friends.

Classmate, Nick Anastasopoulos, owner of Athens Market Café, catered the Saturday night dinner party that was held at the Encinitas Community and Senior Center with 96 people attending. Nick's delicious traditional Greek food was a big hit and was enjoyed by all.

The family picnic was held at the Historic Olivenhain Meeting Hall property, a perfect location to hang out and enjoy the company of friends and family in a more quiet atmosphere. Mr. Tacos set up their grill and made delicious street tacos with all the trimmings to go with them.

For those who attended the 50th class reunion, we hope you'll keep those good memories alive until we meet again. For those of you who were unable to attend, mark your calendars for our 55th reunion. We will have another picnic in the summer of 2023! Please keep in touch with us so we can find you for future class reunions. You can reach Dan Dalager at [email protected]; Kathy Hayashi Furgerson at [email protected]; or Jan Nasif Thompson at [email protected]. If you have an email address and you are not on our list, please send it to one of us.

Our best to the SDHS Class of 1968
